The Full Trade Score System

8 min read
Learning objective
Calculate a Trade Score for any setup using the three base factors and up to three bonus points.

The three base factors

Every zone scores on three dimensions: (1) Freshness — how many times price has revisited. (2) Strength — the quality of the leg-out. (3) Time at base — how many candles are in the base. These three give a base score of 0 to 7.

Factor 1: Freshness (max 3 pts)

Fresh zone (never revisited since forming): 3 points. Tested once (one prior touch and bounce): 1.5 points. Tested twice: 0 points. Tested more than twice: no trade — skip.

Factor 2: Strength (max 2 pts)

Leg-out is a gap (opened beyond all base candles with no trading): 2 points. Leg-out has 2 or more exciting candles: 2 points. Leg-out has 1 exciting candle: 1 point. No exciting candle leg-out: not a valid zone.

Factor 3: Time at base (max 2 pts)

1–3 candles in the base: 2 points (concentrated, urgent imbalance). 4–5 candles: 1 point (average). More than 5 candles: 0 points (diluted, spread-out imbalance).

Bonus points (max +3)

EMA crossover (20/50 golden or death cross at the zone, execution timeframe only): +1. Stochastics extreme (below 20 at demand, above 80 at supply): +1. RSI divergence (positive at demand, negative at supply): +1. Total base max = 7, total with bonuses = 10.

Score to action mapping

Score ≥ 7: Type 1 entry — set-and-forget limit at proximal. Score 5–6: Type 2 or 3 entry — confirmation required. Score < 5: No trade — skip this setup entirely. The score tells you HOW to enter, not just whether to enter.

Practice checklist

  • Score freshness: 3 / 1.5 / 0 based on prior touch count
  • Score strength: 2 (gap or 2+ exciting) / 1 (1 exciting)
  • Score base size: 2 (1–3 candles) / 1 (4–5) / 0 (>5)
  • Add bonus: +1 EMA, +1 Stoch, +1 RSI divergence (each only if at zone)
  • Total ≥ 7 = Type 1 | 5–6 = Type 2/3 | < 5 = skip

Mistakes to avoid

  • Applying bonus points when the indicator is not at the zone
  • Entering on a score of 4 'because the setup looked great' — below 5 means skip, always
  • Double-counting strength: gap-out and 2 exciting candles are both worth 2 pts — use the highest

Risk note — A high score is a study preference, never a guarantee or a recommendation.
